  Jack's Guide to Vampirism

The vampire, or Hominus Nocturnae, is a certainly formidable foe. It has its strengths and weaknesses, but its weaknesses are very specific. Holy water and crosses have absolutely no effect on it. However, silver and garlic work exceedingly well in vanquishing this foe. In order to kill a vampire, you would need to stake it in the head or heart with silver or expose it to ultraviolet radiation.

Vampirism is like a parasitic disease, carried in the saliva of the inflicted, is contracted through the bite of the vampire. Once inflicted, the victim will undergo a horrifying and usually very painful transition, lasting usu. 72 hours. The canines will enlarge and taper to a point. The skin no longer contains pigment, and loses the ability to withstand UV radiation (sunlight). If the body is exposed to sunlight, it will shrivel up, then burst into flames.

If the vampire is staked with silver, the body will go into antiepileptic shock (heart attack), and then burst into flames. The same will happen if garlic is ingested or finds its way into the bloodstream.

If you or another person around you is bitten, the most effective method of eliminating the threat is to use a gun with silver bullets (hollow point with garlic in the tip works exceedingly well, but is optional) and if it is you, shoot for the head. If it is someone else, aim for the head or heart, and fire three times. If you are the hardcore hunter type, then optionally you could have a silver sword made for you, but we’re getting off–subject.

The body also undergoes other transformations- super-human strength and extremely potent healing properties.
